VisualDVR

Along with VisualSoft Suite 11.0 we introduced new VisualDVR hardware and a new VisualDVR2023 Edition”. With the release of software version 11.1 we have now added significant new functionality to VisualDVR 2023 Edition.

IP Video Inputs

VisualDVR 2023 Edition now supports SDI video inputs and/or IP streaming video inputs. Users can use a mix of both types or use just one or the other. We have tested with cameras from C-Technics, i2S/Orphie, Imenco, Otaq, and STR, as well as with various other streaming sources.

The use of IP inputs requires an extra high speed 4-port network card, which will be fitted as standard in new VisualDVR hardware and which we can readily supply to retrofit in existing systems that are capable of running VisualDVR 2023 Edition (most easily identified as those DVRs with blue doors on the hardware).  Please note that we have tested robustly with specific hardware and drivers, and we do not advise the use of other network cards.

If you plan to use IP video inputs and have a VisualDVR with blue doors that does not yet have the 4-port network card installed, please contact our sales team using visualsoft.sales@f-e-t.com

Switchable Source Mode

For structure inspections with a single channel video deliverable rather than the multiple views used for pipeline inspections you can now connect multiple cameras and record any one at a time, switching between them even while recording.

You can mix sources with different resolutions and framerates, choosing one as “Primary” with the other cameras being scaled up or down as necessary to match and create a recording with a constant resolution and framerate.

Colour, Contrast and Brightness Corrections

New controls give you full control of colour, contrast and brightness settings with immediate preview. Settings can be applied differently to each video channel or can be applied to all.

Still Image Grab: Instant Preview and Retake

There is now an option to get an immediate preview when you grab still images, whether that’s from one video channel or from all four at once. For each image, either separately or all at once, you have options to Retake, Accept, or Discard the image.

Quick Overlay

Video overlay can now be edited and switched even while recording. A new Quick Overlay Panel slides out from the right side of the screen giving you options to change any of the following:

  • Change the colour and background text items
  • Apply the colour or background of one item to all others
  • “Live” editing of text labels
  • Turn individual items on or off
  • Turn whole layers on or off
  • Quick shortcut to the full layer editor

Many other small changes

We have made many other small changes to make things more usable, and we have of course fixed a few bugs.
